I got home from my trip ready to play and am having trouble. Besides my plastic not shrinking evenly, the ink started turning brown like it was burnt (I'm using alcohol inks). I saw Adrienne had a beautiful post on shrink plastic on her blog today, along with hints. My heat tool is a Milwaulke type gun, so maybe I'll try shrinking in the oven next. If you have any other tips for me. please leave me a note with this post. Thanks!!!

Shrink plastic disaster
I got home from my trip ready to play and am having trouble. Besides my plastic not shrinking evenly, the ink started turning brown like it was burnt (I'm using alcohol inks). Maybe it's the brand of shrink plastic. Up until a week ago I always used Lucky Squirrel brand and my Heat It heat gun. It worked fine; no problems with how it shrunk or the ink. I couldn't get Lucky Squirrel, except on line, so I bought Grafix brand and used my Heat It, but was very unhappy with the results. When you look closely the plastic has pock marks in it!!! The next time I use this Grafix brand I will put it in the oven and cover with vellum as you did to see if that works better.
