April Quote of the Month

I can't resist quote swaps. The April QOTM swap on ccswaps in by Langston Hughes, "Hold fast to dreams for if dreams die, life is a broken winged bird that cannot fly." I started out with a light blue sheet of Brazzil card stock. I painted some silvery gray streaks with acrylic paints.
Trimmed the sheet down to size and ran it through a bird Cuttlebug embossing folder and colored the raised areas with blue Distress ink and heat set.
A ran the same piece through another Cuttlebug embossing folder and colored the new raised areas with gray dye ink. You decide: is the bird behind the cage of sticks and you're free OR are you behind the cage of sticks and the bird is free? (sorry it's getting late and I'm getting silly)
I took a black framed card and stamped flying birds around the frame with copper pigment ink and heat set. Then I stamped the word dream repeatedly around the border with black Versafine ink (forgot to take a picture of that step).
I slid the bird on blue background under the frame and added a trimmed image of a girl holding a bird cage with copper colored skeleton leaves behind her. Stamped the quote onto a scrap of the blue card stock I painted earlier, colored the edges with blue Distress ink and added it to the card.
