Page for Rhea's Round Robin Journal

I worked on a page for Rhea's round robin journal. Her theme is "Time for Love" steampunky style. I haven't done much steampunk style, so this is a "marriage" of steampunk elements with my style. I painted the base page with silver Lumiere paint and covered most of it with an appropriate background paper. Added some of the steampunkish Tattered Florals I made 2 days ago. Adhered some old watch parts to be the leaves with the bottom flower with  Glossy Accents. Placed some blue paper I made behind the "F" charm and added Glossy Accents inside the "F". Added some watch parts to the body of the butterflies. Used a Dynomaker to create the word strips.

Cut out various components with ventilation tape over grunge paper, colored them with alcohol inks and then ran through embossing folders. Used sand paper to expose the raised areas on the butterflies and heart. I later decided to place this heart on the inside front cover of the journal, as part off the group collage. Made a similar heart (seen in photo above) with printed tissue paper grunge paper, colored with alcohol inks, placed through an embossing folder, and used pewter Distress Stain over the top. Added a game piece pointer with a decorative brad and a watch part.
Cut out "vintage photos" from some of Tim Holtz's background papers. Used Distress Markers to add color to the 2 "photos" with couples in them and added all to the Picture Wheel. Also cut out 2 images of a laughing fairy (or cupid) that was printed on a transparency sheet and added them to the openings on either side of the 2 couples. To the center of the Picture Wheel adhered a heart shape bezel with embossing enamels and charms made earlier, some old watch parts and a bit of chain with Glossy Accents.
For the back of the page, added another appropriate piece of background paper. Mixed and matched some word rub-ons. I had painted the back edges of the Picture Wheel with more background paper. Added some word strips to the top 2 openings. I like how the "cupids" show through on this side as well. Also added a chipboard clock with a watch part and two of the butterflies. Sprayed some heirloom Perfect Pearl spray on the back of the tattered florals.
I went outside the boundaries of the journal so some of the embellishments could be seen from both sides and to imply that love colors and changes our perceptions of "our" worlds.
