O is for Oil Pastels and Oil Background

There is a good video on this technique at Verses Rubber Stamps.

I used water based oil pastels on watercolor paper. It's important to use similar colors so the background doesn't become muddy.

 The instructions say to use baby oil on a cotton ball or piece of gauze to blend the colors. I didn't have any baby oil, so I used vegetable oil and it worked fine. Use heat tool to set colors.
