M is for Mold Making

Learning another fun technique with Adrienne.

Start off with two part mold making compound. Use equal amounts of each part. The mix them together, so they are well blendend.
Press the blended mold compound into a lid a bit larger that the object having a mold made of it. Press evenly into the compound, careful not to push all they way to the bottom. Let set, until the compound has hardened (per instructions on the containers).
Made a piece from the Eiffel tower mold using friendly plastic. The center piece was made from the sun mold, brushed copper perfect pearls into the mold, then filled with dark green hot glue and allowed to dry. The piece on the right was also made from the sun mold using brown air dry clay.
Added highlight to the molded bits with metallic rub -ons.

I'm learning lots of new things, and using products (like the metallic rub-ons) I haven't used in years. Great to use supplies I already own.

Those are turning out great! That is the same brand of metallic rub on stuff that I use. Linda has it in her studio too. :)
I love that stuff.
