We're doing a Book Study as a group on
NGS. We are using
Nancy Curry's book "Texture Effects for Rubber Stamping". This card is inspired by her Tumbling Feathers card. I started by stamping 3 balloons with VersaMark ink on glossy card stock. Then heat set.
I tore some yellow, orange and red tissue paper (make sure it is the kind that bleeds). I placed it on a plastic lid and sprayed with water so they wouldn't float away from me.
I place the torn tissue above and below the stamped images and sprayed with water.
Next, I dried the tissue with a heat tool.
I used cosmetic sponges to rub on 3 colors of Distress inks, rubbing hard to reveal the resist images.
I stamped some balloons with the two darker Distress inks used in the background.
I stamped some more balloons with Brilliance ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.
I stamped some confetti along the upper and lower borders and stamped "celebrate" in black ink and embossed with black embossing powder and heat set.
I added some ribbon and mounted on red card stock.

I love how subtle the balloons appear on this card.

Carol,
Your samples turned out wonderfully. What great tutorials you did with them, too. Terrific job.....
