Christmas ATCs

Made a few Christmas ATCs. Cut various backgrounds into ATC sized cards. Stamped a word collage image over the backgrounds with black India Ink. Found a variety of green colored background scraps and cut them into various lengths (about 1/4" wide) and one longer to be the tree trunk. Inked the edges with brown ink. Glued the bits to look like a tree and added a sticker star.

Silver ATC

The theme on the 9ATC group is  "Silver".

 Embossed a texture on silver paper with an embossing folder, then covered with black acrylic paint. Waited a minute before wiping off most of the black paint and let it dry.











Made a "moon" mold with air drying clay. When dry, covered with silver metallic rub-ons, then covered with glitter glue.

Adhered the moon mold, a tree branch die cut out of silver paper, a metallic owl charm and 3 small silver stars. Trimmed the silver background and mounted on black card stock.

"Silver" Color Perceptions ATC

 The color is Silver in December for the Color Perceptions ATC Swap on the ArtVentures Group. The ATC is to be predominately silver and be how the color silver makes us feel. Silver makes me think of steel, industrialization and also the dead of winter, brrrrr!

Started with an embossed silver card stock.  Drew lines within the flourishes with a silver metallic Gelly Roll pen. Used silver embossing ink around the edges of the card stock and added silver embossing tinsel and heat set.

 Colored some large metal snowflake embellishments with a silver metal leafing pen.

Used a tree embossing folder to emboss some silver paper, added to the atc. Used a silver colored brad to attach the silver snowflake embellishment to the atc.

Chunky Textures ATC

 The theme is Chunky Textures on 9ATC group. I wanted to create a background that looked chunky and heavy and yet was lightweight for mailing. I cut a cardboard box into ATC sized pieces. Tore off the top flat part. Then tore the paper between the ridges.

Inked the raised areas and the outside edges with crushed olive Distress Ink.

 Choose light colored card stock and fibers to contrast with the dark background. Stamped a Mona Lisa image with black India Ink and cut out the face with a circle punch, to look like a face in the moon. Stamped a crane with black India Ink and cut out with scissors. Tied the fibers around the bottom of the ATC.

"Amber" Color Perceptions ATC

The color is Amber (yellow/orange or orange/yellow) in November for the Color Perceptions ATC Swap on the ArtVentures Group. The ATC is to be predominately amber and be how the color amber makes us feel. I find amber to have the warmth of orange and the hope of yellow; for me it is a joyful color.

I cut out some yellow orange background paper and colored the edges with wild honey Distress Paint. Used a die to cut out a flourish from a different yellow orange paper. Outlined the flourish with a metallic Gelly Roll pen. Used home made color spray to add color to some prism flowers.

 Colored a vintage happy baby image before printing, cut out the head and added it to the center of the prism flower, Used the metallic Gelly Roll pen to add the worn "joyful" to the background with some squiggles. Also added a light orange decorative strip to one edge. Adhered yellow vellum behind the open spaces on the decorative strip and covered with glossy accents.

Intaglio ATCs

The theme on 9ATC group is Intaglio. I wasn't successful in my attempts to make an intaglio plate and create an image. Not sure if it was because I don't have a printing press, or I didn't get the thickness of my plate right. Oh well, decided to make an Intaglio style embellishment for these atcs.

I choose one of the sheets of paper I created when making a Squishy book at an art retreat a few years back. I adhered this paper to a card stock base, stamped tree images on with black India Ink, added some torn foreign newsprint to the side. Inked the edges with black ink.

 To make the embellishments, punched a circle out of black card stock. Inked with VersaMark ink, covered with embossing enamel and heat set. Repeated this step 3 more times.

 On the 4th layer of heated embossing enamel, while it was still liquid, pressed in a star image that had been inked with VersaMark ink, and let the stamp sit in the embossing enamel until it had cooled. After removing the stamp, I rubbed silver metallic rub-ons over embellishment, then rubbed most of it off.

 Placed the embellishment on the atc, and layered it on black card stock, then added 3 tiny black star brads to the bottom left.

"Copper" Color Perceptions ATC Swap

The color is Copper in October for the Color Perceptions ATC Swap on the ArtVentures Group. The ATC is to be predominately copper and be how the color copper makes us feel. Copper makes me think of home, hearth & family; it warms my heart. I also have a daughter with beautiful copper colored hair, endearing me even more to this lovely color.

I started with a thin sheet of copper, die cut out heart shape. Used an embossing folder to emboss a design on the heart. Next, rubbed black acrylic paint over the heart, then rubbed most of it off.

 Ran a piece of copper colored metallic paper through a different embossing folder and layered it on black card stock. Adhered a piece of copper tape near the bottom and added a copper flower embellishment with a copper brad and added 2 larger copper brads. Added some copper colored beads and copper fibers to the heart and added it to the ATC.
