Steven choose the colors Purple & Gold for his World of Color Round Robin Journal on Kindred Souls Art Group. I decided to play with masks and stencils for his front page. I started with a piece of printed background paper that had printed text and some glittery embossed words and designs on it. I Used dusty concerted Distress ink over the whole page and also used that ink to stamp key images over the paper. Used gold fast drying metal glossy paint over the glittery bits (as they weren't gold or purple) and also used tis paint to color the edges. Then I placed some masks over the paper and sponged on some seedless preserve Distress ink, moving some of the masks around on the page to cover more areas.
Then I lay down two different layering stencils over the page and only inked part of the stencils with the dusty concord Distress ink, again, moving the stencils around the page and inking parts of the stencils.
And this is how the background turned out:
To complete the front page, I stamped a variety of sayings over the page with black India Ink. Adhered textured gold paper over grunge paper and cut out the cage with a die. Adhered purple cotton fabric over grunge paper, cut out the wing shapes with a die, then used a co-ordinating wing embossing folder to create texture on the wings. The gold fast drying metal glossy paint was rubber over the top of the wings and also some of the metal bits, which were adhered to the page. Also adhered a key to the bottom of the page.
For the back, I choose a gold embossed design on cream paper (seen as the center strip unchanged) and rubbed the two shades of purple Distress inks over the paper, then used a tissue to wipe the ink of the embossed areas. Then added the center strip with my info. Rubbed the same gold paint over a fabric ruler ribbon and adhered it to the left side. Used a zutter bind it all to remake the holes Stephen had in the page.
