Tool Time Swap

I signed up for the "Tool Time" swap on ccswaps. The requirements are to use one or more of your tools to create "something". I decorated this box with my Cuttlebug (CB):
I started with gold textured Brazill paper. Cut into pieces larger than what I'd need to allow for shrinkage. Ran them through the diamond CB embossing folder and ran a dark brown Distress ink over the surfaces, heat set, than with a lighter application, ran dark brown StazOn ink over the raised areas and heat set.
Ran the strips through the Xyron sticker maker to give a sticky back. Then ran through the floral CB embossing folder and colored the raised areas with a black StazOn ink pad and heat set.
Trimmed down the surfaces and adhered the embossed paper to the outer surfaces of a paper mache box. Colored the exposed edges with dark brown StazOn ink
Sponged on bright metallic gold acrylic paint to the inside of the box. When the paint dried, stamped on an image with dark brown StazOn ink and heat set.
To make the butterfly. Used a CB die to cut out two butterfly images out of black textured card stock. Ran each piece through the CB with a different CB embossing folder. Ran over the raised areas with a gold Encore! ink pad.
Ran each image through the traditional butterfly embossing folder and darkened the raised areas with dark brown StazOn ink.
Adhered the two images together back to back. Ran though the CB with a Swiss dot embossing folder and sanded off the tops of the dots with sand paper. Colored the outside edges with a gold leafing pen. Re ran the butterfly through the traditional butterfly image embossing folder and darkened with the brown StazOn ink pad.
For the top of the box: stamped the word "Imagine" with dark brown StazOn ink onto bright gold card stock, glued it inside a metallic frame and adhered it with a black ribbon. Folded up the wings of the butterfly and attached it to the top along the center body.
To finish off the inside of the lid, added a DaVinci hands image inside a decorated slide mount and adhered over the ribbon ends.
This was fun to make. Love my Cuttlebug!
