Compendium of Curiosites 2 Challenge #11 and #12 -Configurations

The 11th & 12th Challenges from Tim Holtz's book "Compendium of Curiosities 2" is up on Linda's blog. This time the techniques are Configurations Part 1 and Configurations Part 2 on pages 33 -34 of the book.Linda has given us two weeks for this challenge and has a super sized prize package of goodies from Mario for one lucky participant.
Linda said we could either begin a new Configurations project or finish one that had been started previously. I hadn't worked with Configurations before, but had purchased a 6.75" x 8.75" set for a family vacation project. So I was ready to begin! I followed the instructions on pp 33-34 of "Compendium of Curiosities 2" using Tim's "Vintage Shabby" Paper Stash. I did color the one box with the gray paper with an antique linen Distress ink pad. I took out 3 small square boxes to be used in another project. This gave me a large space to play with (the large area in the upper right corner).
I was inspired to fill the Configurations. I added pictures of my grandchildren from our winter vacation in Florida, along with shells & a small sand dollar we had collected, some beach sand in a mini bottle, some charms and paper flowers and some stickers left over from scrapbooking. I adhered the shells with Glossy Accents.
I took advantage of the depth of the boxes to not only add these shells, but add fun items to the side walls of the boxes.

This was fun, these Configurations could become addicting!

Hi Carol, I love your box, it is sooo pretty, love the soft colours, the shells and also the way you have used the tissue tape so that the words can be clearly seen - now that's a genius idea! Anne x
