F is for Faux textures with embossing plates

F is for faux techniques. I'm starting with these two which are quick and easy. First is a faux wood grain. Tim Holtz shows how he made a wood grain tag on one of his 12 Tags of Christmas. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder and rubbed brushed corduroy Distress ink on side of the folder and inserted some manila folder paper and embossed. The raised areas are the light ones, the dark ink was pressed into the paper that is pressed down.
Decided to darken the raised areas and used two brown Distress inks to color the raised areas. Love the look.

The second is faux painted tin. Placed a light green paper in a decorative Cuttlebug embossing folder. Inked one side of the folder with a darker green Distress ink and embossed. Another great look.
