Leafing Pen Resist Backgrounds

I'm participating in a background swap on Art-Venturers. We each make 12 half sheet backgrounds and get 11 different ones in return. Trish had a great tutorial on gold leaf watercolor resist backgrounds and I wanted to give that a try. I started off with watercolor paper 12" x 9" and drew some swirls with a copper leafing pen and added some dots with a gold leafing pen.
Instead of using a watercolor wash, I sprayed on two colors of Adirondack Color Wash to cover the paper.
Next sprayed water over the paper to blend the colors and let dry.
Then sprayed a darker red Adirondack Color Wash Spray and heat set so it wouldn't run. Then I cut each sheet in half, ready to mail out for the swap.
Had an extra sheet that had been scribbled on with the metal leafing pens, this time I sprayed with red & purple Adirondack Color Wash sprays.

Gorgeous papers!!! Sorry to say I won't be getting any of the backgrounds. We've had quests staying with us and other things going on so I didn't want to commit and not be able to get them done on time.
