Green ATCs

The theme for the May 6:5 ATC swap on ccswaps is "Green". Living in the Evergreen State, green reminds me of nature, plants, the life surrounding us. I started off with one of the sheets of Faux Washi Paper I made last fall. There is more green in this piece then this photo shows (LOL). First thing I did was to wad up the paper and carefully open so it wouldn't tear. This will give it a faux silk feel.
Cut up card stock a bit larger than 2-1/2" x 3-1/2", ran adhesive over the surface and attached the faux washi paper to it and cut them out. Ran the cards through a Cuttlebug embossing folder. Colored the raised areas with a light green Brilliance ink pad, then colored the bird and selected reeds with a dark green Brilliance ink pad.Trimmed the cards down to ATC size. Wanted the bird image to stand out more that the other raised areas, so added a layer of Liquid Glass over the bird and adhered a small green rhinestone for an eye.For an embellishment, took a small metal frame charm and colored it with 3 shades of green alcohol inks. Then glued a small gold dragonfly to the center. Colored brads with the same green alcohol ink combo, and attached the charms to the ATCs. Colored the edges of the ATCs with a black gold Brilliance ink pad. To keep the organic feel, applied the ink irregularly (it helps to have a very juicy ink pad for this).Here's a close up, showing the fine wrinkles in the tissue paper, giving a "silky" appearance to the background. I like how the raised embossing, lightly inking the raised areas and applying the liquid glass still allow the background design to show through.
