Book Study - Interesting Folds

We're doing a Book Study as a group on NGS, using Nancy Curry's book "Texture Effects for Rubber Stamping". This week we are looking at her card "Celebration". In this card Nancy uses an interesting fold to create interest to her design. Here is my attempt. I cut a piece of confetti card stock to 3-1/2" by 10-1/2" and made crease lines at 3-1/2" from each end to create a try fold.I then made matching crease lines along the diagonal of the two end portions. Hint: make sure the edges of the folds match well, before using a bone folder to flatten the crease.

Stamped flourishes and sayings with black Versafine ink and a few floral images with red dye ink. I also used the red dye ink to color the edges of a smaller piece of confetti card stock.
I loved the flower Debbie created out of fabric ribbon to use on one of her cards. I thought this would be a fun card to add a ribbon flowers. I didn't have a long enough piece of the black & white checked ribbon I wanted to use. I figured, I could make a fuller layered flower out of three shorter pieces. I stitched along one edge of the ribbon with small stitches.

Carefully pulling on both ends of the thread, I gathered the ribbon together. I stitched down one of the ribbon ends to create a petal look. I wrapped the ribbon round and round until I was happy with it, and sewed the layers together with a few stitches.

I glued the left half of the small piece of stamped card stock to one of the front flaps. I added a small white button to my ribbon flower and sewed it on to the card stock. Here is the finished card closed:
