Shelly's deco

I received a deco in the mail for one of the NGS group members. I decided to do resist backgrounds for her deco. I started by spraying the page with brass Color Mist spray and heat set.
I stamped a bird in a branch image with embossing ink and covered with clear embossing powder and heat set. Then sprayed over the page with green/blue Shimmering Mist.
I stamped some of the same branches with two colors of green Brilliance inks along the edges. Inked the edge of the paper with the darker green Brilliance ink.
I stamped some words in black Versafine ink, cut out metallic paper to spell f-l-y and adhered it to a black strip of paper:
When I sprayed the Shimmering Mist over the front of the page, I deliberately sprayed over a sheet in the spray box that I wanted to add more color to. I noticed the Shimmering Mist added enough wetness to the page to re activate the other colors on the page. I took advantage of this to dip the back of the deco in these colors. I sprayed the page with some water to pick up enough colors to cover the back of the deco.
Love how this turned out:
More resist, I stamped flourishes with embossing ink and covered with clear embossing powder and heat set. Then colored over the top with two shades of blue Distress inks.
I over stamped the same flourish with blue Ancient Page ink.
I cut out an image of a woman and stamped a saying onto her skirt with black Versafine ink. I cut out an image of butterfly wings and colored them with purple Twinkling H20s, and added them to the back page.
Like how this turned out.

  1. I especially like what you did with the backgrounds for these pages. I bet they're even more beautiful in pupose with all that shimmering going on. Great explanations too. I like seeing all the materials laid out that you're going to use. Have you ever thought about conducting classes, you'd be great at it!
