Post-it Note Holder Magnet - Favorite Color Swap

Last Saturday, I received a post-it note holder magnet at the Stamp & Scrap Day I attended , made by Angela. Here is my version:
I made this magnet for a Favorite Color swap on ccswaps. We could make anything that used our favorite color and stamping. My favorite color is blue ( I like lots of color and lots of colors). Glad I had blue post-it notes on hand.
I wanted to use this paper that I added blue spray to while working on Shelly's deco earlier this evening.
I cut out a piece of the purple/blue end of the paper. About 3-3/4" square and a strip large enough to cover the black clip. I sponged blue Lumiere paint onto a flourish stamp, and stamped onto the paper.
I adhered the paper to a lightweight coaster, rounded the edges and colored the edges with the same Lumiere paint.
I wanted the magnet/holder to be a piece of art, even when there were no post-it notes on it. I cut a 2-3/4" square out of the yellow with blue splatters end of the paper shown above. I stamped on a saying with black Versafine ink, added an image, rounded the corners and glued to the center of the coaster.
On the back, I stamped butterflies with Lumiere paint, stamped an image with black Versafine ink, added a magnet and signed it.

  1. WOW, I thought you stamped and added the image on corkboard. This is very pretty, Carol!

  2. You are so clever!!!!
I need to use other things besides ink pads with my stamps. I love how the lumiere works. I am assuming I just need to be sure to wash off my stamp before it dries; and I would think that just water should do the trick!

  3. Love this idea! Question - is the clip adhered to the coaster or????? Glad I am in this swap - maybe you will get my name!

  4. The clip is just attached to the holder by itself. This way it can easily be removed to add replacement pads or to leave off.
