I just got Bernie Berlin's book
Artist Trading Card workshop and had to start playing. I want to sign up for the Vintage Little Beauty swap, and thought this technique would make a great background. Since the theme is Vintage, I pulled out the wrapping paper I used to make the
connected ATCs earlier this month. I had some scraps left over that had been sprayed with yellow mist & gold perfect pearls. I tore more scraps from the original paper, I left some plain, and some I sprayed with walnut ink. This gave me a slight variation of tones, while still being vintage. Bernie says to use lots of glue from a glue stick while gluing the pieces down on card stock, to be messy on purpose. Next, brayer the pieces down.
Then, you cover the piece with embossing powder (I used gold), brush off the excess, and set with a heat gun. This will be a great background for this swap.
I also made another, larger piece.
Wow, this looks really cool! I'll have to try this!
