ATC based on Tim's Sept 2012 Tag

Loved the industrial faux riveted metal look that Tim Holtz shows how to create on his blog in the Sept 12 Tags of 2012 post. Check it out for all the lovely details with lots of photos and his tag which has some cool embellishments, especially the mini typewriter that looks 3d, that die is now on my wish list.....
I randomly covered an atc sized card with various cut pieces of foil flashing tape (I don't have the metal foil tape sheets, but this worked for me).
Used a retractable pen, a poking tool and the edge of an acrylic block to create the textures (Tim has lots of photos and step by step instructions on his post).
Used felt pad and these colors of alcohol inks to coat the foil. Do it in several layers, letting the alcohol ink dry in between .
I didn't have steel wool, but this steel scrubbing pad works also. Once alcohol inks are dry, use in a circular motion to scruff up the foil and remove most of the layers of alcohol inks. Cool background!
Did the same technique and used butterfly dies to cut out the shapes. Scrubbed off less of the alcohol inks with the steel scrubbing pad so they won't blend in too much to the similar background.
Tore out a strip of dictionary paper from Tim's lost & found paper stash (loved that it has "inspire" in this piece) and colored the edges with vintage photo Distress Ink. Adhered the cut butterfly shapes and used Glossy Accents to adhere some watch bits to add a little texture to the butterflies. Used the letter "I" in a type charm and attached it to a wire pin with a jump ring and attached it to the atc by the wire pin. It doesn't show up in the photo, but this wire pin says "IDEAS" on the top. So appropriate because Tim's ideas inspire me!
