A great opportunity Part 5

We ended the cruise with 4 days in London, so much to see, unable to fit it all in....
Toured Windsor Castle, visited the palace and St George Chapel

the British Museum, so many wonderful exhibits!
Outside Charing Cross Station, so many things to see

Climbed up the Monument
great views of London along the Thames


boat ride down the Thames to Greenwich, visited the Nat'l Maritime Museum

visiting the Royal Observatory, on the Prime Meridian

Tower Bridge

sailed up to Westminster

toured Wellington Arch and Apsley House

to Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery, so much fabulous art, also the Nat'l Portrait Gallery
All Hallows by the Tower, very interesting

The Tower of London, so many exhibits

On the cruise, we met the Chief Warder from the Tower of London,  invited us to look him up at the Tower!

Southwark Cathedral, organ was playing while I visited

Strolled along the Queen's Walk down to Clink Street

and the Globe Theatre

crossed the Milennium Bridge

Toured St Paul's Cathedral

climbed the 528 steps up to the Golden Gallery above the dome

made it to the top, great views of London

Verger's tour of Westminster Abbey, 900 yrs of history
Horse Guard Museum


Piccadilly Circus

A few meals at local pubs
Tour of Buckingham Palace and the diamond jewelry exhibit in honor of  the Queen's Diamond Jubilee

enjoyed tea & cakes in the palace garden

toured the Royal Mews

walked through St James Park

Able to see the Rubens ceiling in Banqueting House (I hope to visit Italy one day)

We ended our visit, with Mom's favorite a trip to St Martin's Theatre and a performance of the Mousetrap
