Tim Holtz has another Month of 2012 Tag up on his blog: July! As tomorrow is the 4th of July, I decided to stick with the Independence Day theme. Played with the Alcohol Ink Splatter technique on both white and black glossy card stock. Fun!!!
On the white glossy card stock, used red and blue alcohol ink drops (immediately after each drop, using a blast of canned air to cause the alcohol ink to splatter). Used a "few" drops of alcohol blending solution before adding a drop of silver metallic mixative. It really spread. Added some more red & blue alcohol ink drops & blast of canned air over the silver.
On the black glossy card stock, dropped a couple drops of alcohol blending solution, then adding a drop of pearl mixatives, then a blast from the canned air. Did this three times. Love the look!Next, dropped on some blue & red alcohol ink drops, blasting with canned air after each drop. Like how the colors show over the pearl.
Decided to drop on some gold Mixatives without first using the alcohol blending solution, and blasting with the canned air. This gave a more concentrated "burst" of color.
Stamped a Liberty Torch image over the one on the left with black Archival ink, and for the one on the right, stamped with VersaMark ink, coated with Egyptian Gold embossing powder and heat set.
On the one with black glossy card stock. Colored the flames and top of the torch with spiced marmalade Distress Marker and covered with rock candy distress stickles. Trimmed, colored edge with gold Krylon pen. Mounted on black glossy card stock with 4 mini star brads.
On the one with white glossy card stock, colored the flame and top of the torch with mustard seed Distress pen and coated with rock candy Distress Stickles. Trimmed, colored edges with gold Krylon pen and layered on dark blue card stock. Used snow cap paint dabber over words in word band and used finger to wipe off paint from the surface. Attached with red & silver cord. Added a decorative large brad and a clear sticker with the word "Remember".
I'm ready to celebrate!
Really great interpretation.
