Paint watercolors over surface. You'll lift off the color while the paint is still wet.
Gently dabbing with a wadded up facial tissue will leave a soft edge to the removal of paint.Using a wrung out natural sea sponge will lift color in a soft textured manner.
A clean, damp paint brush will lift off color with a sharper edge. You could draw negative images with the brush.
Using a paper towel will remove more paint than the other techniques.
