I think this transformation is amazing.
Start with copy or printer paper cut to size and rub oil over the surface with a paper towel. I used cooking oil.
Wipe off the excess oil with paper towels.
Years ago at church camp, the kids would draw a design on copy paper with black permanent markers, then color the spaces with watercolor markers. Next pour on a bit of cooking oil, rub with a paper towel. When they dried, we hung them in the windows as "Faux Stained Glass", but they did and do feel like vellum paper.
