Shrink plastic success

I've signed up to do a Shrink Plastic Swap on ccswap. I had a more successful effort today. I roughed up the surface of the plastic with fine sand paper. Applied off white chalk ink to the background. Then I inked up a flourish stamp with a mixture of alcohol ink and blending solution and stamped onto the plastic. Allowed to dry.

I stamped on butterflies with black Stazon ink and colored the edges with a black Sharpie pen. Remembered to punched a hole near the top before shrinking the plastic.
I heated the plastic on a craft sheet in the oven with a thick piece of vellum on top. This prevents the edges of the plastic from curling up and sticking together while shrinking. Preheated oven to 250 F. for just a couple of minutes. I liked how it turned out.
I found a piece of textured wall paper that set off this shrink plastic charm well, colored the edges with purple chalk ink and layered it on black card stock. I added one of the shrink plastic beads I made earlier. I punched holes and added eyelets to attach the bead and charm with a piece of fiber to the card.
I decided to leave the fiber long and tied it inside the card, in case the recipient would like to turn it into a necklace. I added a quote to the inside of the card.

  1. Yes the new owner does want to make it into a necklace. I really love it, beautifully done, thank you.
