Bird Swap

I made this ATC holder for the 'Bird, Bird, Bird, Birds The Word', swap on ccswaps. We could make anything as long as their was a bird and some stamping.

For the main piece, I used the blue card stock I colored while doing the on going board book project. When I sprayed the papers for the bandanna papers, there was extra color spray on the waxed paper. I dabbed this card stock over the wax paper to add glitz to this paper.

I stamped the bird image onto the blue paper with gesso. I like how the gesso mingled with the yellow color spray to add color to the image, I edged the paper with gold krylon pen and added the brads. For the outside covers, I found some flexible green patterned paper in my stash. I folded it in half and ran through a leafy Cuttlebug folder. To get this texture to 'pop' I ran my finger in gold acrylic paint and rubbed it over the surface. Then I heat set the color, I like how the acrylic paint bubbled and thickened.
For the inside covers, I used some textured paper, ran it through this cool bird themed Cuttlebug embossing folder and colored the raised areas and edges with Distress ink. Next I stamped some sayings with black Archival ink and bound the book with the Zutter Bind-it-all.
