I made you a creative fun card today in honor of your Birthday, sorry it won't arrive by post until after the day. Sending wishes for the whole year!
Jo is on a Birthday card exchange group I'm on and ditzy me forgot all about Birthdays in December (and I have 3 relatives with birthdays this month).
I rememberd that Carol Clements in England asked those of us on the Art-Venturers Group if we had tried brayering ink on our cuttlebug folders then running it through with white cardstock. She says the background is coloured and the embossing stays white. I haven't tried that yet, but after seeing Tim Holtz using mini misters with perfect pearls on his blog, I thought: what if I sprayed the inside of a cuttlebug folder with this glitzy mists? So that is what I did.
I made yellow, blue and green misters with white perfect pears mixed in and sprayed the inside of the Happy Birthday Folder. I spray over a craft sheet so I can run some scrap card stock over the excess ink to use in a future project.
Placed card stock in the folder and ran through the cuttlebug with a sheet of paper towel under the folder to catch any drips that come out.
Here is the card stock after embossing. I forgot that blue and yellow mix to make green, so all that shows is yellow and green. Looks nice, but is a little subtle for me. I like bright colors and glitz ('tis the season and I haven't decorated my home yet, so this card gets the glitz).
I ran a pearlescent blue Brillance ink pad over the raised image to give the card contrast. And added yellow glitter to some of the depressed areas to add the glitz.
What a wonderful card Carol. Your cuttlebug projects are stunning!
