I'm working on some of the "B" techniques which include Bargello. Brayering, Black Pearl Backgrounds, Brocades, Bleachout Stamping, Bleach Stamping, Brayered Pearls, Brayered Gesso Resist, Brayered Bands, Beeswax Collage, and the Bandanna Technique. Today, I wanted to concentrate on some of the Brayered techniques.I played with the Brayered Gesso Resist Backgrounds a while ago, and decided to have fun with it again. This time I had the black glossy card stock which is recommended.
Lightly sponge on white gesso onto black glossy card stock under a stencil. Let dry, you can use a heat tool to speed up the drying.
Once the gesso has dried, brayer over with rainbow dye inks. First one, with tree stencil
OMG - I love them all - but the one I NEED is the first card with the tree stencil - and while I am begging - I also need the stencil :) Serioiusly Cartol, do you remember where you bought it?
ReplyDeleteLOVE ALL OF THE BRAYERING!!
These look so striking... I need to try this brayer technique too. I don't have any cool stencils to use. Well, I have some stencils, but none that I think would look as good with this technique as yours do.

SweetPea: I'm away from home, but know I bought the tree stencil from Art & Soul in Lacey WA, and just remembered it's a Dream Weaver Stencil (I think lol). I'll send you the card, but I'm keeping the stencil.
ReplyDeleteChrissy: You don't have to do this with stencils, you can also use stamps to create patterns, designs, or create your own stencils with die cuts.
