I cut off some pieces from a large shopping bag I had that looked like old newsprint. Misted it, wrinkle it and dried it. Then ran reddish brown Distress Ink over the wrinkles and made up a spray of water, gum arabic and two different gold mica powder mixtures to spray over the paper.
Used black slide mount piece and colored the edges with a gold leafing pen, stamped clock images with black StazOn ink, used rub-on words on the top and bottom. Added a small clock part to the lower left.
Bonnie has a fabulous video and step-by-step tutorial on bloomers on her blog. I wanted to give it a try without using the stamp (which I don't have). I drew a spiral on the back of my scrap paper in pencil, cut along the pencil line with decorative scissors, snipped between each "petal" shape (the longer the snip the better) and used tweezers as Bonnie suggests on her post.
Used the Zutter Bind-it-All to put the booklet together with ATC holders as pages (these can hold ATCs, photos, embellishments....). Used a vintage rub-on image on the front cover and layered over the decorative slide mount using thick foam mount tape. Added a ribbon and finished off my "bloomer" by adding a white bead and layering on white paper flower. Added a gold metal flower shape with white brad to lower right corner.
For the inside covers, used some papers in my stash that were made by coloring dictionary pages, tearing them, re gluing them to over lap and spraying with a gold home made spray. Stamped some sayings on a vintage image with brown StazOn ink, layered on white textured paper and colored the edges with gold Encore! ink. Adhered a measuring tape ribbon and sewed on small white flowers with gold colored beads in the center.
