ATC based on Tim's May Tag of 2013

Love the May 2013 Tag from Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2013 series. See his blog here for how he created it, lots of lovely step by step photos. I've used some different products from what Tim shows, as I'm using what's in my craft room.
Choose some words from rub-on sets I had and rubbed them on a piece of manila card stock.
Pressed three colors of Distress Stains on to a craft sheet, pulled the atc through the stains to pick up the colors, spritzed with water to help the colors spread.
The used heat tool to start to dry the stains, stopped to splatter on some water to move the stains around a bit more, then finished drying with the heat tool. Used paper towel to rub the wet stain off the rub-ons. Fun resist technique!
Used blending tool to color the edges of the atc with Distress Inks.
Stamped various images with black Archival Ink. Used paper towel to rub the ink off of the rub-ons.
Colored the center of a metal tag with raspberry alcohol ink, added some blending solution to lighten the color. Later I added some rub-on words to this tag.
Adhered the metal tag to the atc with a red heart brad. Also added some film strip ribbon to the bottom of the atc.
I like this rub-on resist technique. Will keep my eyes open for more rub-ons!

Shrink Plastic Embellished ATC

The theme for 9ATC group is Shrink Plastic Embellished. Created a shrink plastic embellishment by stamping a round face image on clear shrink plastic that was roughed up with sand paper, using black StazOn ink. Colored the back with wet water color pencil. Punched holes in the top and bottom of the image before shrinking. Used heat tool to shrink the plastic. When cool, colored the edges with a silver metallic leafing pen.
For the base of the ATC used a Re-Inker Splash background. Stamped a tree image on the background with green StazOn ink. Tore paper out of an old poetry book. Colored the edges of the paper and ATC with vintage photo Distress ink.
Added a couple of metal charms with the shrink plastic embellishment on silver cording.

Fabric Tattered Flowers

I signed up for a handmade tattered flower swap on Kindred Souls Art Group. I used the Tattered Flower die to cut out a variety of fabrics and some lace. I didn't like how "floppy" the lace bits were. So I used fusible webbing to attach the lace to the blue fabric before cutting it out. I used the fusible webbing between two pieces of fabric for each of these fabrics to give them more stability

On the plain blue fabric, I ran them through an embossing folder, then colored with midnight blue StazOn ink.
I also cut out some clear fabric with beads to add to my layers. I mixed the different cut flower bits and added a metal piece to the centers. Here are some of the combos:

Page for Elena's Round Robin Journal

I have Elena's Round Robin Journal in the  Kindred Souls Art Group. Her theme is Inspirational Quotes/Shabby Chic look!. Elena had used background papers and also stenciled and stamped on many of the pages in her book. I choose a fairly plain page on one side with flowers stenciled on the back for my page.
For the front I used an old embroidered hankercheif. Stamped a saying with blue StazOn ink. Added some large lace on the top and added a "pearl". Hand stitched a vintage image with some gold glitter accents. Sewed some  yellow rose beads to the embroidered flowers and a white rose bead to the corner of the vintage image. Sewed some crocheted lace to the edges of the page and sewed on some "pearls" to the front and back of this lace.
On the back, I didn't want to cover the stenciled flowers that were already done. Stamped a saying with black Archival ink on another vintage image added to the page with Washi tape. On the side added another quote with a Sakura gel glitter pen.

Birthday Club Page

May means it's Gloria's birthday in the birthday club on Kindred Souls Art Group. I used one of the Masking over Acrylic Painted Backgrounds I made earlier. Stamped some more butterfly images with broken china Distress Paint.
Used Sakura Gel Glitter pens to add some accents.

Used different types of letter stickers to add the word FLY and dream. Also added a large flower made by mixing fabrics cut out with the tattered floral die and some paper flowers with a large decorative brad. Also added some washi tape to the bottom.
Stamped a birthday quote on the back and added a star made from friendly plastic to some paper flowers.

Red, Black and Gold Heart Quilt

Another quilt for Comfort Quilters. I was given these gorgeous fabric scraps and used them to make this quilt with the large red heart.
